Question: How often should I take Lufenuron?
Answer: For treating candidiasis, Lufenuron should be taken once daily for five days. For proper absorption it needs to be taken with a fatty food - we recommend that you mix one-half teaspoon of Lufenuron powder into a full-fat yogurt and eat it along with a meal that is also high in fat. Lufenuron is stored in body fat, and is slowly released into the bloodstream for a period of three weeks.
Question: Why has my doctor never heard of Lufenuron?
Answer: Because Novartis (the manufacturer of Lufenuron) chose to market Lufenuron as a flea control product (Program®) rather than as a treatment for candidiasis. Program® (Lufenuron) exhibits no drug interactions, therefore it has no ill effect on older subjects, or subjects with liver or renal problems, regardless of any medications those subjects may be on for their medical conditions. It does not affect diabetics or subjects on antibiotics. There is no bio-accumulation so there is no chance of Program® (Lufenuron) building up and causing a problem in the long term. It is standard practice for all drugs to be tested for an 'LD50.' This is the recognized dose where the drug turns toxic in 50% of laboratory rats.
